About Us

We’re Beth and Sam. We met while travelling before university and have spent the last eleven years together — married for the last two. Much of that time has been spent on the move, living and working around the world. From adventure guiding in Montenegro to working on a regenerative olive farm in Italy, we’ve always looked for work that keeps us connected to people, place, and purpose.

For the past five years, we’ve been involved in a large-scale hospitality project in the northwest of Scotland, with a strong focus on community and charitable work. That experience gave us the confidence to take the next step and build something of our own. In August 2025, we took on Boat of Cluny and The Ferry Cottage as a fully-fledged business, having taken over from John Campbell. It marks the beginning of a project that brings together everything we value: thoughtful hosting, considered design, and working with the land. There’s more to come in time — but for now, we’re excited to welcome you to The Ferry.

About The Ferry

Tucked beside the River Tay in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, The Ferry is a thoughtfully restored self-catering cottage offering a peaceful escape in one of Scotland’s most picturesque regions. A popular choice for couples seeking a romantic getaway, the cottage comfortably sleeps up to four guests (plus one infant), with two spacious bedrooms, each featuring a king-size sleigh bed and built-in storage.

As of January 2022, The Ferry has undergone a full refurbishment, including the addition of a classic roll-top bath in the upstairs bathroom and updated interiors throughout. Outside, guests can enjoy a private sauna and hot tub overlooking the river — perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the area.

Set in the heart of ‘Big Tree Country’ — home to ancient forests, red squirrels, and some of Scotland’s best walking routes — The Ferry is ideally placed for outdoor activities, wildlife spotting, or simply enjoying the stillness of the surrounding landscape.

We welcome well-behaved dogs and children. Infants under 3 stay free and a cot can be provided at no extra cost.
